![]() ![]() Round off with minor healing and support, and he's essentially a much weaker version of his partner. He also brings ailments into the mix oft-underused as stronger enemies tend to resist or be outright immune to them, but they're devastating if they work. He'll come in in place of Chie if I need a better balance of magic and physical his Wind skills are very good with both Boost and Amp, and the -dynes. You'll never outright suffer through having Yosuke on your team, as he will be able to pitch in everywhere, but he's far less capable than the specialists in their respective roles. If I'm going physical-forward against a boss, Kanji is my dude. He also has credible elemental attack skills in Electricity he can go up to Ziodyne/Maziodyne, and he gets a couple of good support skills too. But he hits hard, much much harder than Chie does. Kanji: Not as fast as Chie, has single target skills, and also misses more often. If magic is needed, either Teddie or Yosuke come in here. Kanji will join her if I'm going physical-forward. She's my choice for physical attacking character, at least in general dungeon-crawling. Since Yukiko's always around, having Chie too gives you access to the Double Dragons follow-up attack. ![]() Her ice skills are strictly for hitting weaknesses only, and are fine for that. Dungeon Sweeper Naoto is largely useless for boss battles, and vice versa if you go for her element attack role.Ĭhie: Faster, more accurate, has multi-target skills, and crit boosts. Alternatively she can be built as an all-element attacker with all the single-target elemental -dynes via scooter rides. My preferred role for her is dungeon sweeping with both instakills and their respective boosts, with Megidolaon and Mind Charge for Golden Hands. Naoto: Flexibility is the key with Naoto, as you can build her a couple of ways. No brainer to have her almost permanently in the party. She has the highest Magic stat and the highest SP pool of anyone. That would be enough, but she also is the best healer, although Teddie starts stronger, having Mediarama from the start, she soon catches up and passes him, and she is the only one who can gain Salvation. She gets the only Severe-damage elemental spell available to people not called Yu Narukami in Burning Petals, gets both Fire Boost and Fire Amp, and can get Mind Charge if taken on all five scooter rides. However, with the skills Rise gets through levelling up, raising her Social Link, Second and Third Awakenings, and boosts from scooter rides, Rise is a considerable force multiplier for the party regardless of its current line up. Rise: Might be surprising, since obviously as the navi she doesn't partake in battle directly. The Wild Card can do everything better than anyone else. I'd add Beelzebub best magic wielding persona in the game, pop the elemental Dynes on him and he is a perfect backup for when you can't use Yoshitsune. Daisoujou and Alice I have, but are not as useful once you have Naoto to do the dungeon sweeper job instead. Trumpeter I use primarily for support he gets Debilitate and Heat Riser naturally and you can get the rest of the buffs/debuffs on him manually. Hassou Tobi is insane, and you can make him invulnerable to everything except Almighty. Yep, Yoshitsune is a game winner all by himself. ![]()
